Super Junior or SuJu...
Who are they? What makes them
so special in the eyes of the ELF? More importantly, what made me fall in love
and call myself as an ELF?
This is the story of how I
became an ELF.
Super Junior is a South
Korean boyband that consists of (original) 13 people. They are Leeteuk (leader),
Siwon, Shindong, Kyuhyun, Sungmin, Ryeowook, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Heechul, Kangin,
Yesung, Kibum, and Han Geng. At first I thought "Why is the number of its
members as much as it is?” That was my thinking when I was idolized Shinhwa. Shinhwa
alone is far more established than Super Junior. What can they do to make
themselves equal with Shinhwa? At that time, I still doubt the ability of the
members of Super Junior.
Over time, my doubts began to
fade slowly. One night, I accidentally watched the broadcast of music that
addresses the Super Junior. The emcee explained the history of Super Junior. At
that moment, I became interested in the Super Junior. When they sang "Sorry,
Sorry", I immediately fell in love. When Super Junior KRY sang "The
One I Love", they show an amazing voice quality.
Without hesitation, I noted
all the song titles are displayed at the show and look on the internet. Apparently
they did deserve to be called a superstar. What makes me more amazed, the
members of Super Junior is not only the ability to sing and dance. Though each
member to develop their abilities to the world of acting. Some of them also were
asked to be host or a radio announcer.
Honestly, I was impressed
with their enthusiasm and hard work to prove themselves that they deserved to
be called as an idol. They never tired of practice to continually improve their
skills. I also salute the Super Junior who did not want to rely only on a
singing career. Apart from the entertainment world, they also indicate that
they are good citizens. Kangin and Heechul were doing compulsory military
service. They give a good example, is not it?
Unfortunately, the problem
hit Super Junior in the middle of their careers rising. One of the personnel, Han
Geng, dropped out after winning a lawsuit over his employment contract. In
addition, I also wondered as to the status of personnel Super Junior Kibum. I
never saw him again at all the activities of Super Junior. The latest news I
have heard, there are no signs that Kibum will be active again.
Even so, I really hope that
Super Junior will always in harmony. I also pray that all personnel to be
reunited and performed together in the future….
Kangin-oppa… Heechul-oppa… We
really miss you both…

* Because listening to the song "Coagulation" from the album "Bonamana",
my mother began to like K-Pop, especially the ballad songs.
* My niece likes "Bonamana".
She always asked me to play that song over and pver again.
